My neighborhood is set back into a slightly wooded area. In the woods, many feral and stray cats roam. In order to keep the population under control and prevent the obnoxious fighting and mating of cats on the loose, I TNR the cats. Any young kittens under 6 weeks of age that can still be socialized are fostered at my house. I get them spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and flea treated at the shelter I volunteer for and put them up for adoption. I have rehomed many kittens, a cat, and adopted 6 myself (including a pregnant one). It's a great way to keep unwanted litters of kittens from being injured, killed or taken to the shelter.
