The people of Dallas and New Orleans have already seen him. His next stops: New York City, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. So what is Luda up to? The Grammy award winning recording artist is currently on tour, but a different kind of tour than usual. Ludacris has teamed up with the U.S. government in encouraging 2010 Census participation nationwide!

Other celebs who’ve spoken out about the importance of being counted in the Census include Eva Longoria and Demi Lovato. The 2010 Census “Luda on the Block” radio, viral webisode campaign, and home visit tour will give Luda fans the chance to share their thoughts on how neighborhoods could benefit from Census funding. WAIT- did we just say home visit tour? That’s right. Ludacris says, “Today is a day for change. I plan to knock on doors in various neighborhoods to try and dispel any myths about the Census… I look at our communities now and I see many empty lots, closed clinics, dilapidated schools and an overall breakdown of social services for the poor and elderly.”

How does the Census work? By filling out the form, communities ensure that they receive federal support which goes towards maintaining bridges and roads, emergency services, schools, and job training. Join Luda in raising awareness about the 2010 Census by reminding your friends and family to fill out the form today!
