Academy Award winning actress Charlize Theron believes in building up a country starting with its kids, and that’s exactly what she’s doing with her charity’s $50,000 donation to help build a foster home for children in South Africa.
Not only is her organization, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), backing the construction of a home for orphaned and abandoned children, but it’s also adding a competitive edge to the mix in the meantime! CTAOP has challenged Citizen Effect, a group that encourages individuals to select their own charitable initiatives, to match the $50K fund.
Theron founded CTAOP in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to target problems of poverty, HIV/AIDS, and child welfare that afflict the youth of South Africa. Theron is a South Africa native- her first language is Afrikaans!
The actress is definitely a celeb who follows through with action when it comes to her belief about giving back to the community and helping the youth that will foster growth in the country. Want to empower the youth movement too? One way is to start with the fundamentals— help establish safe shelters and places to call “home” for neglected and underprivileged children today. Do you have what it takes to make a change? Convince Theron today!
