Neil Hilborne recently made headlines with his breathtaking poem about love. And while we love the poet, the subject matter of his poem is what really struck us. Hilborne wrote about a topic that 1 million children and teenagers face, but no one really talks about: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
The “OCD” poem went viral after he performed at the 2013 Rustbelt Regional Poetry Slam and Reddit posted his YouTube video. His words serve as additional prove that positive and beautiful things can come out of life difficulties.
In “OCD,” Hilborne manages to perfectly describe and embrace what it’s like to fall in love while struggling with the mental disorder. Check-out the poem below:
