110,354 birthday cards sent

This campaign is over! In case you missed it, here’s what happened.

Over a million children experience homelessness every year. Many kids’ birthdays fall while they are in a shelter, making it hard to celebrate. Making and mailing birthday cards helps ensure everyone gets to celebrate on their special day -- and you made thousands of awesome cards to do just that! Shelter staff members received the cards you sent. Then, staff members, family members, and friends wrote a personal message inside for the birthday boy or girl.

Thanks to everyone who participated, including these crafty and causey members!

Scholarship Winner

Aneisha rocked Birthday Mail and won a $10,000 scholarship for college. Way to go! Here's what she had to say:

"Sending these birthday cards is important to me because I am aware that children and teenagers my age are already going through enough with puberty, relationships, and stress with homework. It's bad enough that teenagers have to go through all of these obstacles alone. Helping homeless children receive a birthday card is just one step closer to making them feel like they're not alone. I'm grateful to give homeless children and teenagers birthday cards to make them feel special on their birthday."
