Amy’s organization ensures long-term self-sufficiency for former foster youth by providing peer-based housing loans, educational counseling and life-skills training. Within one year, 95% of youth participants were employed and 77% completed their GED or received a high school diploma.

Amy Lemley currently works for the John Burton Foundation for Children Without Homes. As for the First Place Fund for Youth, it was the first organization in Northern California to provide affordable housing and supportive services to former foster youth, and today is considered a national model for providing permanent housing for high risk youth.
