ABOUT HELP DARFUR NOW
What is Help Darfur Now?
♦An organization geared specifically for students and their families that is dedicated to raising funds for and awareness of the genocide in Darfur, Sudan.
♦Help Darfur Now (HDN) is a non-profit organization that was started by three New Jersey high school students.
♦Currently, HDN has over 200 chapters across the world.
What has Help Darfur Now accomplished so far?
♦We have greatly exceeded the initial fundraising goal, as HDN has so far raised over $400,000 for food, medicine, and other supplies for victims of the genocide in Darfur.
♦When our chapters raise money, they send it to Help Darfur Now and we send it to the organizations earmarked specifically for Darfur.
♦When Help Darfur Now sends money to these organizations, it gives our chapters a collective voice in showing that we care and can make a difference.
♦We raise awareness by speaking at schools, youth groups, educational conferences, and at rallies (the Save Darfur Rally held in Washington, DC with an estimated attendance of 50,000).
♦Our organization has earned endorsements from politicians such as NJ Governor Jon Corzine and NJ Congressman Donald Payne as well as actors George Clooney and Martin Sheen, and Olympic champion, Joey Cheek.
