The club was established in order to promote diversity in cultural awareness in a high school and spread to the community itself.
The club was founded two years ago, by myself with the help of fellow students and teachers interested in my idea. As I was not from this area, I underwent an immediate cultural shock, as well as the high school seemed to be distictly segregated according to certain groups and ethnicities.
The club has since endured a harsh struggle to gain student support and interest, however, we have held events and discussional meetings to address and identify some of the problems affecting our school and community. These include various forms of prejudice and discrimination.
It is my hope that this club will continue to thrive and gain support and well as continue its positive impact on the students and community.
The club does plan to and has done various projects in order to promote cultural awareness, however, it has not reserved itself to specific project as of yet. It is however, a project within itself.
