We live in a community that is in economic crisis. We wanted to do something to help Habitat for Humanity, which has an office right down the street from our school. We raffled off a basket of goodies at our school, and with the money we earned, we bought fabric to make blankets for a family who would be moving in to a Habitat house. The recipients included a mother and her children, so we chose fabrics that would appeal to each member of the family. We got together at school and cut and tied the blankets together, and then a representative from our group presented the family with their blankets at the dedication of their house.
