St. Norbert College Garden

The Problem

Students at St. Norbert College need a practical way to engage issues of food justice in our community. Students are not adequately educated on the issue of food sustainability, and those living in poverty in the De Pere community lack access to food--especially healthy food. Additionally, our dining services sends 250 lbs of compostable materials to landfills each week.

Plan of Action

We will start a student led community garden to be fueled by volunteer effort. The space will serve as a service-learning experience for college students, and all produce will be donated to local food pantries.
