"Thanks" Patches for Children's Hospital Oakland

The Problem

I am a Leukemia patient, who battled cancer three seperate times. I enjoyed when groups brought in items to cheer me up during my many hospital stays. I designed a patch to give out to thank youth who do things for Children's Hospital patients. This year I turned 15 years old and will be 5 years cancer free this summer. So far 6000 patches are out in my community saying "Thanks" and inspiring others to DO SOMETHING. This program of FREE patches is word of mouth and you won't find it on the hospital web site which makes it way cool. My parents sponser the program so far but we could use help to fund ample patches. The American Red Cross put a story about me in their 2007 Anunal Report just published April 2008 because I also do alot of public speaking for many health issues.I am the only youth featured in the catalog. Helping others has been my theorpy to feeling good. Perhaps my story will also inspire others.
