Toiletry Kits for the Homeless

The Problem

In Contra Costa County, there are no homeless shelters, only places that people can go to get meals and clothes and other items that have been donated. Because of this, the homeless people in our area have a hard time staying sanitary and getting the proper toiletries to make that possible.

Plan of Action

What I did was I contacted a bunch of large corporations and local doctors offices to see if I could get donations to make toiletry kits. I was able to get a lot of donations and then was able to get together a younger group of girl scouts to help me assemble the kits. I was then able to donate the kits to the Monument Crisis Center in Concord for them to distribute to their clients. It was a very hard, but moving process.
