3,733,832 Cigarette Butts Cleaned Up
"This campaign is currently closed, but will be back soon! In case you missed it, here’s what happened.
About 1.69 billion pounds of butts end up as toxic trash each year. The best way to prevent these butts from harming wildlife or leaching chemicals into the environment is to clean them up. Members across the country told cigarette litter to GTFO and cleaned up over 3.7 million cig butts! This was the nation's largest youth-led cigarette clean up campaign and you all rocked it!
Thanks to everyone, specifically these members who got down and dirty and kicked serious (cigarette) butt!
Jake Miller as the Face of GTFO
The rapper dropped it low in our PSA and reminded us why cigarette litter needs to GTFO. He also showed us how not smoking can lead to the world's brightest smile (swoon).
You Made It Big!
Roberto cleaned up a whopping 400,000 cigarette butts and won a $10,000 scholarship for college. Way to go! Here's what he had to say:
"The GTFO Campaign was important to me because it showed how working together can make a positive impact on the environment."
