African Library Project

The Problem

The mission of the African Library Project is to increase literacy in Africa by creating and improving small libraries. 1000 books is enough to create one library. The African Library Project makes it easy for U.S. children to recycle their books in order to share the gift of reading with children in Africa. In the United States, volunteers collect, sort, and ship gently used books to specific African communities who are committed to building and maintaining a community library.
